Free Diabetes A1c screening

From 8:30AM to 4:00PM

November is National Diabetes Month

Find out if you are headed for Diabetes, and don’t even know it!

The Center for Disease (CDC) reported that more than one-third of Americans are headed for diabetes, and they don’t even know it.  To Defend Against Diabetes (DAD) the Lions of Michigan and the Lions Clubs International Foundation have provided funding and coordinated with District Health Department #10 to offer free A1C testing walk-in clinics at 10 county offices in northwest Michigan. Beginning November 4 through November 15 each office will provide 4 hours of free A1C testing.  District Health Department #10 county office, dates and times are listed on the attached flyer.  Individual results will be provided following testing.  The blood test can identify if you are prediabetic and at a higher risk for developing diabetes and cardiovascular disease.  A1C can also diagnose Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, as well as monitor your diabetes treatment plan.

Type 2 diabetes can be prevented or delayed with a healthy lifestyle that includes healthy eating, physical activity and stress management.

Learn more about diabetes and resources for Diabetes Education in northern Michigan at www.michiganlionsdiabetes.org or www.nmdiabetes.org

Concerned about Diabetes? Get a FREE A1c screening!

Whether you are living with diabetes or concerned about your risk, A1c is a tlood test that can assess your risk for diabetes or help monitor your diabetes treatment plan.
